- Compilers made programming more reliable by mechanically enforcing rules. AI now produces code faster than we can reliably inspect it.
- We're not rewriting compilers. We're building a new abstraction on top, combining AI, harnesses, type systems, static analysis, contracts, tests, formal verification and CI/CD.
- Observability first: expose machine-readable structure, dependencies, behaviour and constraints. Trace the consequences of a proposed change.
- Strictness is tunable: turn it up in Python with typing, contracts and tests. Rust starts stricter and can add formal verification.
- AI proposes changes; deterministic tools inspect, constrain and verify them. The aim: make AI-driven software change as reliable as compiler-checked programming became decades ago.
